There's Purpose In Your Name!

Galatians 3: 26-29 --For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God, from the foundation of the world, knew you, ordained you, and mandated your purpose in the earth. Upon your birth, you were given a name who was synonymous to who your parents knew you were. That name stuck with you, even until now. However, upon your re-birth, and regeneration through Jesus Christ, you were given a new name. That name is a child of God.

What does it mean to be a child of God? According to God's Word, we are one with Him. We are Abraham's seed and an heir. That means we have a promised inheritance from God that is greater than anything we could receive from this world. It is an identity that can never be taken away.

There are many in the Bible that had one name upon birth, but after getting a greater insight and a greater sense of purpose as to who God was in their lives, their names changed. Jesus immediately gave Simon Bar-jona the name, Peter meaning Rock in the Greek, after He gained insight into who Jesus really was. As a matter of fact, Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-jona, For flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven" (Matthew 16:17). When Abram and Sarai took hold of the knowledge and insight into their greatest purpose of being the mother and father among many nations, it in turn, caused a dramatic change in their characters-thus the given names Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 17:5, 15).

When you know who and whose you are, your name will line up with the purpose and plan of God for your life. You are a child of the King. Let that name and the brand of being Christ-like bring glory to God. At the Purpose Development Institute, we teach the wisdom that Hebrew brings to the Bible, since it is the original language of God. See you cannot have a surface knowledge of the Bible and survive in this day and age. The Hebrew word for King spells Melek. If you took the word in Hebrew and spell it backwards, it is Calem which means embarrassment. In other words, if you don't live up to your name and live in the class of a king, you will become an embarrassment to the kingdom of God. Be confirmed today in who you are!

When we donít know what to do, God does. When we canít seem to find our way, God can. When our strength has failed, Godís strength takes over and allows us, in our weakness, to be strong. I can tell you a time (many actually) when my needs were far greater than anything I could ever imagine. I needed my bills paid, food for my family, and a new vehicle. In 2012, you went through some very hard times; you were tested on every side, even oppressed, stressed, and depressed, and just couldnít understand why God would not bring you through. But it didn't mean that God was not concerned or that He didnít know about your situation. There was a reason for your testing, and He allowed you to go through because on the other side, there would be a strong testimony. He determined that you would be able to handle it. And He knew that through this process, you would remain faithful. Find out what happens next inside...
There may have been many times in life when you have been shunned, pushed aside, abandoned, abused, told you would never be anybody, the last one to be called upon, and made to feel like God has not called you. But do you know that it is often people who have gone through those instances that God has favored the most? There are many examples in the Bible where God took those that were the least of them, and made them prominent in the land. He can take what's next to nothing and make something great out of it. He can take what's unpopular, and make a spectacle of it, all for His glory. He can even take the impossible that has happened in your life, the very thing that everyone feels will never come to pass, and cause it to happen in a second, bringing you from the backdrop to the forefront. Why? Because God is the God of the Possible. Read more inside...
