It's Christmas: Give the Greatest Gift of All!

Christmas lights, candy canes, gift wrapping paper, the tune of Christmas carols in the grocery store, the buying of presents, and the aroma of cakes and pies, are just a few of the things that people often declare gets them in the "Christmas spirit." So let me ask you, what gets you in the "Christmas spirit?" Is it the coolness of the December air? Is it the anticipation of hoping the gadget or diamond ring you just seen on that TV commercial is awaiting you? Is it the thrill of seeing your children's face light up as they open their gifts?

As there is nothing in particularly wrong with any of the afore mentioned things, the question would be more so, "Do any of them provoke you to celebrate and share Jesus?"

The truth of the matter is this: this country has experienced a year that most thought they would never see during this time. We could have never imagined that housing market falling as severely as it did, corporate wall street giants crashing, gas and grocery prices soaring, and thousands of people getting laid off of their jobs. And as a result, their are so many people that are feeling hopeless, fretful and disappointed.  Many are battling a spirit of depression because they never thought that they would be in the situation that they are in.  So, what will we do? How will we comfort them? What will we give?

As we experience yet another Christmas season, let's remember to be intentional celebrating and sharing Jesus not only with our family members, but with others.  The Jesus in you may be the only Jesus people encounter during this Christmas season. Let's be sure to honor Jesus by making Him the center of everything we do.  As we go about our shopping, baking, gift wrapping, and more, let's think about how we can incorporate Jesus in every effort and moment. Let's ask oursleves, "How can I celebrate and share Jesus, with this purchase?" "How can He be glorified?" "What can I do to present Him as the ultimate Gift that to someone that doesn't know Him during this Christmas season?"

If ever there was a time to evangelize the world, it's now! We must celebrate and share Jesus! He is the greatest Gift of all!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

Celebrating Jesus,
